Real Wooden Toggles
The front closes with a row of wooden toggles on rope loops, exactly the way a duffle coat has always been built. They fasten quickly with cold hands or gloves on, which is half the reason the design has lasted this long. Behind them sits a storm flap that stops the wind cutting straight through the opening.

Mid Thigh Cover
The coat runs to mid-thigh, so it covers far more of you than a short jacket does. The cloth is thick and dense with a smooth face, and it holds its shape instead of collapsing after a wet day. A deep hood pulls up over the head and a tab at the throat closes the collar right to the top. Two large patch pockets sit low for a phone and gloves.

Office Or Weekend
A duffle coat sits happily over tailoring and just as happily over a jumper and jeans. It is a proper cold-weather coat rather than a light layer, so keep it for the deep part of winter. Only two dark shades are offered here and both go with almost anything you own. Dry clean it and brush it down between wears.
