Suede That Softens
The suede has a fine matte nap that feels soft under your hand and moulds to the shape of your foot the more you wear it. It is a warmer, quieter look than polished leather, which is why it works with denim as well as with wool trousers. Suede darkens a little where it flexes, and that softening is part of how the shoe ages.

Steady On Wet Pavements
The sole is thick and sturdy with a low block heel and a channelled tread, so it holds on a wet pavement. Contrast welt stitching runs right around the edge and gives the shoe a solid, well-built line.

Office To Evening
Open derby lacing means you can set the fit tight in the morning and loosen it at the end of the day. Wear them to meetings with tailoring, then straight out with jeans and a jumper.
